Greekorican Rendezvous

People have always mistaken my father for Greek. He can be a little ethnically ambiguous and people have trouble sorting out his Puerto Rican, by way of España, features. I've had my doubts though. My friend Julie is 100% Greek and looks nothing like me or my cousins. We have discussed many times about having a Greekorican (Greek+puerto Rican) fiesta but nothing has come to fruition

Flash forward to my Greekorican rendezvous in Athens with Alex..everyone thinks we're Greek. Their faces flash their astonishment when we speak English. I don't respond well to people approaching me on the street. I ignore as a principle to avoid solicitors. But apparently Puerto Ricans do look Greek because everyone seems to think we fit the bill.

Observations about Athens.

  1. Lots of Europeans here--French and Italian
  2. Not as chaotic as Italy
  3. Everything is central/walking distance
  4. Feta is more salty here
  5. 1 liter is a lot of wine for two people

I can't decide if I would live here. Naples or Barcelona..yes no question but I have not gotten a feel for the city. I'm looking forward to the hamman bath tomorrow!
